Fa La La ‘mingo Greetings

Couldn’t resist picking up this little pink truck with the bottle brush tree. I thought I was O-V-E-R holiday trucks last year, but this one had me at PINK.

I am a Pink is my everything and Gold is my neutral Lilly Girl. Goes with my professional background and talents. . . . . Naturally, Pinky was added to cart.

I let the dog out, and I started moving things around to set up this shelf immediately. I had to borrow the silver tree from the shelf below it and add the painting from the wall. This “Lovely” painting is by Anthony Fife, 1/2 of Renzi Tate Furnishings team, his wife Amy (another LG sister) is the other half of this dynamic duo.

Like so many of us, I am ready to move forward to the next season of every part of life.

Flamin -go & VOTE!

We voted!

I know my Great Aunt Babe who was a suffragette and part of history to get women the right to vote is smiling down on me today! She voted in every election since she was able to including by absentee ballot from her hospital bed before she passed away.

My personal ballot has been at the board of elections. I sent it by Priority Mail because I wanted proof of delivery.

This photo is me this am as I set out to hand deliver my parents’ ballots to the big yellow election box. I was happy to see we were not the only ones doing everything in our power to make sure our ballots were delivered.

So many men and women have given their lives to ensure we are able to vote. I will never forget that!

“TRUNKEY” Treating

Don’t let the Grinch of 2020 take away Halloween too!

I created (for Two Lumps of Sugar) a spooky trunk quickly and easily with our eco-friendly, re-usable totes and insulated totes.

Tailgating has always been popular with our fans and customers at TLOS, it was natural to use all our TRUNKEY totes for “Homegating” through the holidays and Halloween too!

With a Saturday Halloween this year, TRUNKEY Treat in your driveway at your leisure, or you can take the party on the road at a local park, field, picnic area or beach!

To get started, pick your location and time with friends and family. Gather your candy treats, chairs and plan for proper spacing for social distancing. We normally make treat bags with a variety of candies, and are making them right now for this year.

The plan is to use 3 totes spread across the driveway and fill them with the treat bags. Each bag has the same mixed contents so each child can take 1 bag when it is their turn. In a separate area will offer bags with a spooky toy for those with allergies.

It’s content planning, marketing, creating, selling in overdrive time and wholesale and retail worlds colliding.

And setting tables for weeks ahead of time …………. someone came to give an estimate on driveway work and I was pulling stuff out of cabinets and bins, moving things around, gluing, cutting and more. He silently fell right in step as he sat at the table to write out the quote.

Mega Thanks Musicians!

It is really thank you MTV (original 5 VJ’s), pop stars, rock stars and all in that category. When you’re my many years old, you realize MUSIC is everything! Or at least that was my brainstorm recently.

Here’s the thing ……

Music is what keeps us going all these years. If you’re female not only did the hooks “hook” us, we all fell hard for the looks from the bad boy to the prepster and everything in between. Those guys got us through our teens. Some were briefly replaced by newer, cuter guys, but we still all bopped, rocked, zoomba’ed and more along with the music.

And then BOOM, we hit 40 and above and those guys from our youth re-appeared in a big way. For some of us in a really huge way. I have my own personal R.ock S.tar, his identity is not really important to anyone who doesn’t personally know me ………….. and he has influenced me in huge ways. Ever since music has been spread to the masses, girls have fallen for musicians. PERIOD.

Throughout our lifetime music has the power to make us sad, happy, energized or inspired. Speaking of inspiration, I have been listening very closely to the lyrics of my generation (a lot of it was trashed and sometimes called lame.) Many of the songs were actually very deep, and gave good advice that totally makes sense to my this age self. I actually look up the lyrics just to make sure I heard correctly LOL.

In 2020, those musicians I know are what has been helped a lot of people make it through the lockdown and shock to our way of life. They have made themselves really accessible on social to their fans, and many have lots of personal interaction with fans. Hard to believe there was a time when security was taking care of the stalkers, and now they Facebook live with fans.

Fans and musicians both miss the Human Touch and live audience experience, you can tell. Lives have been greatly impacted and that interaction is therapeutic for all.

Personally I am happy so many musicians have been able to live through struggles like addiction and illnesses and are able to inspire fans to fight their own battles. I am a sucker for a success over struggle story. I believe everyone deserves a chance to write the next chapters of their lives, and we should not define someone for a lifetime by past un-wise choices.

The rockers I love the most are the ones who are honest about their so called flaws. They share their stories in hopes of helping others as well as living from a place of honesty and openness. Let’s face it, all the things we try to hide away usually add fuel to the fire anyway.

With the passing of every great artist, we feel gutted like a piece of our family and youth is gone now too. Last week my generation went through that loss again with the passing of Eddie Van Halen. I think his death is one that will have a major impact. Hopefully Eddie will be the angel some need to realize life is short and tomorrow is never promised. Live a good today.

2020 being 2020 has gone on for so long, I think people are too tired to worry about those things they were going to change. They have been worn down, I hope Eddie re-ignites that spirit to live a better life.

Time will tell. I will keep listening and learning. And reminiscing about all the great concerts I have been to, musicians I have personally met and the friends I have made along the way on the tour bus of life ………….. that tour has definitely been YCMTSU.
